Kama Coils and Transformers was established in 1996 as the holding company of McCoils. McCoils was established in the early 1960’s as a manufacturer of specialised coils and transformers. Today Kama Coils and Transformers still has a remarkable diversity as a specialist in the design, manufacture and repair of electro mechanical products. Through the delivery of quality products, excellent service and extremely competitive prices, we have developed an exceptionally close relationship with our customers and pride ourselves on the ongoing nature and development of our customers’ service.

Resistors

We manufacture wire wound resistors using N80 or Nichrome wire on ceramic tubes with the option of open or epoxy coated. Mounting feet are provided to customer requirements and Individual power ratings available from 5W to 1kW. Single resistors can be assembled into series to increase the power rating or adjustable bands can be fitted which allow the resistance value to be adjusted from 0- 100%.

Transformers

Transformers are capable of either increasing or decreasing the voltage and current levels of their supply, without modifying its frequency, or the amount of Electrical Power being transferred from one winding to another via the magnetic circuit. Our design team can design and manufacture a full range of transformers to customer specifications.

Welding Machines

KAMA has introduced a range of electronic inverter based welding machines to its range of products. We have partnered with a team of experts who have over 20 years of experience in the design and manufacturing of inverter based welding machines. We can now supply a comprehensive range of multi-process, reliable inverter welding machines to the market. These are the only South African manufactured inverter welding machines, to have micro-processors based control systems, which improves inter- component communication and overall efficiency.

Magnets

Lifting magnets are devices that use magnetism to lift and move heavy ferromagnetic objects such as steel plates, bars, and beams. Our magnets lift, move or position regardless of size, weight, or shape, in fewer man hours, reliably and economically. Lifting magnets make quick work of difficult, time-consuming steel handling.
